Starship Dedication Plaque PSD by FuryofaSeraph Starship Dedication Plaque PSD by FuryofaSeraph
Here is how this file works.

In your layers panel you will find a bunch of folders, two of them grouped up above, five others below.

All you have to worry about is the top two.
- The first of the two is called "Deltas" this is where you find all your silver arrow-shapes that are all trek-like.
- the second one is for all the other shapes that add to the arrow-shapes. this is what makes your plaque different era's in my opinion.
All you have to do is select what shapes you want to be visible on your plaque by hiding/unhiding them

Now, just below that (in the Green layer called Shadow) this is where it gets tricky. First you must clear this layer, CTRL+A and DEL. Next you have to CTRL+Click the "deltas" and "backs'' layers that you have visible, then fill that selection on the Shadow Layer with Black. Looks much better doesnt it.

Lastly, is the Color layer (marked in blue) all you have to do is fill this with the color you want your plaque to be shaded. Have fun with this. I reccomend silver, (which you will find in my Metallic Swatch file) or blue, or copper works really well.

All the other layers are pretty straight forward, just edit them with the text tool.

Have Fun
~FoaS

One last thing: Please credit me if you use it for your own plaque.

Thanks for making this fantastic template and allowing us to download the PSD.  I used it for my new Star Trek game and my players loved it.  You can find the jpg of the plaque in my gallery.

This is awesome! I do apologize for having to ask, but, for the text, what font did you use? I'm using the PSD in GIMP, so, due to the differences between the two programs, I had re make the text layers, and the closest thing I can come is Times New Roman, but it just doesn't look right.

Old but still good.

Created yet another plaque thing. U.S.S. Arcadia. Added my own little bit of flare to give it a bit of an onyx look.

Hyperion Class with our own stats, but we use the Century Class as picture.
[link]
(We don't have anyone with us who can use 3D Programs, so we make our pictures with Bridge Commander)

Its a Deep Space Explorer with the first working experimental Transwarp Drive (ok, basically its a fusion of Transwarp and Quantum Slipstream) of the UFP.

Our RP is timed at the begin of the 25th Century and we have a slightly different timeline (Voyager never came back, "These are the Voyages" from Ent is not part of our story, and others)

Every one as he likes :)

I like our timeframe (for instance because it allows me to introduce OUR timelines version of Nero, chief of a Mining Planet on a Romulan Mining world who's first action upon meeting the Ships Crew is to hug to Captain and proudly show around Holos from his Kids...freaking said Captain's player totally out in the process)

well, its relativly easy to fix yourself, even if you use Gimp instead of PS (Gimp does not recognize photoshop text layers :/ )
[link] after 2 hours hitting, bullying and kicking Gimp. (Its an idea for the Hyperion in the RP i'm playing ;) not your Hyperion, which is also very nice design)

Ok this is a stab in the dark that you will even get this message but I am currently trying to edit a Plaque, and I got the U.S.S. OMEGA part down but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how the hell I did it. Can you give a brief description of what you did? I too use Gimp.

Also It looks like you are not using the original file?

Thanks in Advance
Logan

Very cool! I found this a couple years back and lost it, couldn't find it again, after a quick google search and a few community forums later I found it! Probably would have been easier just to search Deviant Art, but it slipped my mind.

i had plans to make the entire thing vector shapes, so it can be scaled, but nothing really came of it.

Maybe when i get to the point on my bridge models...

Vector you say? I swear by them. The only thing is, they don't take to kindly to texturing.
